One of the reasons Pen 2 Paper started its journey was
due to a reply letter sent from Sir Richard Branson
From the Virgin group to myself.
As a start-up company I decided to contact Sir Richard
Branson and submit my business idea to him as the Virgin
group pride themselves on the personal service.
After trailing through the web presence
of this company and reading snippets like:
"Each proposal is carefully considered and responded
to."
I decided to handwrite a summary of
my service and how it could be implemented. After a
while I received a reply:
After initial dissapointment I realized
that there was indeed a great need for this service.
I had written a handwritten letter to an individual
in a company and not only did that individual not reply
in person, they could not even tell the difference between
a handwritten personalized letter and a brochure?
So.... In view of this, I ponder the question: "If
a large corporation like The Virgin Group has obviously
lost touch with basic communication skills, let alone
reading ability. How am I "the consumer" to
have faith in them as a personal service orientated
company?
